The Resort
Coconut Grove Beachfront Cottages is a small, intimate resort located directly on the ocean and a secluded white sand beach. When we bought our slice of paradise we made a conscious decision to make sure we kept it just the way we would want it to be if we were here on vacation. It was important to us that we retain the solitude and simplicity of the island way of life.
What we have is extraordinary: diving and snorkeling, incredible nature walks, the greatest staff this side of the Pacific and sunrises that will take your breath away. We at Coconut Grove are devoted to this island, its people and its traditions. Come see why people say that Taveuni is one of the most magical places on our earth.
Accommodation
The Banana Bure is located on the lower part of the property, closest to the beach. The cottage has a king size bed, ceiling fan and windows all around with views of the ocean from 3 sides. Just ten steps from the beach you’ll find your hot water out door honeymoon shower.
Our Mango Bure has large windows all around offering generous tropical breezes and views of the beach and the gardens. It has a queen size bed, overhead fan and fridge as well as a single bed under the front windows. There is a large veranda in the front with two oversized chaise lounges. From the bathroom you step outdoors to the hot water honeymoon shower.
The Papaya Bure, light and airy cooled by the trade winds, has a queen size bed, ceiling fan and a small fridge for your cold drinks. Its louvered windows provide beautiful views of the ocean and sunrise right from your bed. Down a few steps from the spacious veranda is the outdoor lava rock shower.
Dining & Entertainment
Our restaurant is small and intimate, set on the front veranda of our island home overlooking the ocean. We serve food of which we are very proud and lean towards fresh fish and seafood, organically grown vegetables and homemade pastas. Authentic curries and Fijian dishes are also on our menus and we import some of the finest beef New Zealand has to offer. Meals are served in our oceanfront restaurant, on your private veranda or down on the beach by candlelight.
Many nights we have “the boys” come play their ukuleles and sing their sweet island tunes. It is an important part of our effort to show you as much of the Fijian culture as possible while you are here with us, so we also have village night when the entire village performs meke (traditional story/dance) on our beach, followed by lovo (food cooked in an earth oven over volcanic rocks).
