Difference Between Impulse Fiji and Travel Companies

Q&A discussion between Impulse Fiji website manager and Dick Beaulieu, Managing Director, Impulse Fiji, Nadi, Fiji Islands

Website Manager: What does a vacation package from Impulse Fiji normally contain?
Dick Beaulieu:
Resort accommodation, return airfares from the USA or Canada or land arrangements only. In addition, Fiji airport meet & greet service, all transfers by private vehicle and/or boat or land. We can also provide customized itineraries for combinations of resorts or resort/cruise packages, special arrangements such as weddings, scuba courses, numerous optional tours, attractions and activities and meals for those with special dietary requirements.

We also advise clients about any current or upcoming resort and/or air fare specials consistent with their preference of travel dates. As we are based in Fiji, our advantage is having firsthand current knowledge of Fiji’s resorts and locations and the country’s transportation system which assures the smoothest possible client itineraries. I have personally lived in Fiji for over 30 years and staff members are local residents.

Website Manager: How does Impulse differ from the services of travel companies such as Expedia, Travelocity, etc.?
Dick Beaulieu: Bottom line, personalized service. For example, it is not possible for people to make live contact with travel search engines to ask questions about or discuss various aspects of their vacation planning. For example, if people want a two or three-resort package they would have to book the resorts individually without knowing how to get from one to the other and whether or not their ideas are even feasible.

We are in Fiji, know the ins and outs and can generally answer questions on the spot. Also, people are often confused about dates and times as a result of crossing the International Dateline traveling to and from North America and Fiji. This can cause people to make either airline or resort bookings on the wrong day.

Website Manager: Can a client contact you during a vacation in Fiji in case of emergencies, specific enquiries, unanticipated transfer problems, etc.?
Dick Beaulieu: Yes, either our office or our Meet & Greet service personnel at Nadi Airport, seven days a week from early morning to late evening.

Website Manager: What are the main differences between a vacation through booking engines and a vacation through Impulse Fiji or is the target market completely different?
Dick Beaulieu: The ranges of resorts overlap somewhat but a lot of the boutique outer island resorts do not appear on search engines. These are particularly important for the large numbers of people seeking advice about the best honeymoon and wedding locations or specific questions about scuba diving in Fiji. However, strictly compared to the “bare bones” packages offered by search engines our prices will be comparable if not less. Unfortunately, many people perceive that search/booking engines will be cheaper. We also offer payment plans.

Website Manager: How can the general public contact Impulse for package information. Dick Beaulieu: http://www.impulsefiji.com or toll free from the USA & Canada, daily from 9 to 6pm Fiji time: (253) 617-1375
