Individual tipping is not customary in Fiji but you will probably see receptacles at the resorts for the Staff Christmas Fund. This is shared among resort staff, so a small contribution to that would be welcome. Depending upon your length of stay and personal experience while at the resort, about FJ$20-30 would be appropriate.
If you feel someone did a particularly good job (restaurant, housekeeping, etc.) one or two Fiji Dollars is sufficient but not expected.
Resort incidentals (food & beverage, optional excursions, gift shops, etc.) can be settled by credit card upon departure and most merchants in Fiji will accept cards. If you wish to pick up some Fiji Dollars, there are ATMs and a 24 hour bank at Nadi International and some of the larger resorts. However, ATMs are not available at the smaller outer island resorts. |
